Hosting and server logs

The website is hosted on a server at Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. Requests generate technical data including IP address, time, requested page or file, response status, transfer size and, where provided, referring page and browser information. Processing is necessary to deliver and secure the website and diagnose faults. Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f), our legitimate interest in reliable and secure operation.

Logs rotate daily and seven rotated versions are retained, corresponding to approximately seven days plus the current log. Relevant extracts may be preserved until a specific security incident has been resolved. Logs are not used to create advertising profiles.

Cookies, fonts and search

Content pages use no advertising or analytics trackers, externally loaded fonts or embedded videos. Search, filters, language selection and reading settings work without advertising cookies or persistent browser storage. Search terms are processed within your browser and are not sent to a search provider.

Contact form and email

The form sends your name, email address and message to sascha@rossaint.com to answer your enquiry. Messages are not stored as a contact list on the website. A short-lived technical token protects the form from automated submissions without using cookies. To limit spam, a non-public value derived from your IP address with a secret key is stored for no more than one hour.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Article 6(1)(b) for enquiries concerning a contract. Correspondence is retained for as long as needed to handle the enquiry, an agreed collaboration or legal obligations. Submitted material is not automatically published.

Processing in the United States

The operator is based in the USA. Sascha Rossaint also handles correspondence from Florida, so information you send is also processed in the USA. Data protection there is not equivalent to that of the EU in all respects. Please do not send health information or other particularly confidential material through this form.

Your rights

Subject to applicable legal conditions, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. Any consent given may be withdrawn at any time for future processing. You may complain to a competent data protection authority, particularly where you normally live or work or where an alleged infringement occurred. Contact the address above to exercise your rights.
